Yes. This is the S95F's special skill. TechRadar, What Hi-Fi? and RTINGS all found its anti-glare finish unusually effective. A bright window or overhead lamp is far less likely to appear as a clear reflection across the programme. The picture also stays bright enough for sport and daytime television without closing the curtains.
02Is the Samsung S95F good for films at night?
Yes, although it is better suited to bright rooms. Dark scenes look deep and colours remain rich, but two review teams noticed that the very darkest details can disappear into black. A picture setting can recover some of that detail. The screen finish that works so well during the day can also make the finest picture detail look slightly softer in a dark room.
03Is the Samsung S95F good for gaming?
Yes. A PlayStation, Xbox or gaming computer feels quick and smooth on this television. All four sockets can handle modern consoles, so a household with several devices does not have to keep swapping cables. The first setup needs a little care, but it is a strong television for keen players once that is done.
04Does the Samsung S95F need a soundbar?
Not for normal viewing. Voices are clear and the sound follows the action more convincingly than it does on many thin televisions. At high volume it can become strained, so film fans who like a large, powerful sound should still plan for a soundbar.
05Does the Samsung S95F include UK catch-up apps?
Yes. The main streaming services and individual UK broadcaster apps are available. The inconvenience is that there is no single place bringing all free catch-up programmes together. You can still watch BBC, ITV and Channel 4 programmes, but you may move between more apps than on some rival televisions.

Samsung's advantage is more practical: this television is much easier to watch when windows and lamps reflect in the screen.
