Independent UK technology advice — clear, honest and jargon-free.
Technology, made clearer

About UKTechExpert

UKTechExpert is a UK consumer technology advice site created to help ordinary buyers understand what a product will change in day-to-day life — not just what appears on its specification sheet.

Who we help

We write for people who want to make a confident decision without already being a technology expert. That includes first-time buyers, families comparing household costs and anyone helping a relative choose or use a device.

What we publish

Our reviews explain who a product suits, what is genuinely useful and what the drawbacks are. Buying guides compare sensible options at different budgets. Comparisons focus on whether an upgrade will make a noticeable difference. Our how-to guides break everyday tasks into clear, model-specific steps.

How we reach a verdict

Every review states whether UKTechExpert tested the product directly or produced a research-based assessment. Research-based reviews use named manufacturer documentation and current UK buying information, plus published hands-on testing from established independent sources when it is available. We link to the evidence, and a new model without dependable independent testing is kept out of buying-guide recommendations until that evidence exists.

Who is behind the site

UKTechExpert is run by Bailey Lamb through Bailey Technologies. Bailey is the named person responsible for the site and the point of contact when a reader questions a verdict, source or correction.

Research-based pages are prepared using the published process above. We do not use the words “editorial team” to suggest a large testing laboratory or hands-on experience that did not happen.

How the site is funded

Some pages contain clearly labelled affiliate links. If a reader follows one and makes a qualifying purchase, UKTechExpert may receive a commission at no extra cost to that reader. Commercial arrangements do not change our verdicts or remove drawbacks. Read our affiliate disclosure.
