The R95H is Samsung's attempt to make LCD colour exciting again. Its microscopic red, green and blue backlights promise intense colour without relying on a conventional white light and colour filter, while Glare Free treatment targets the bright-room practicality OLED can struggle to provide. It is also packed for gaming and smart-home use. None of that makes £3,099 self-justifying: this model must prove that colour remains accurate, local dimming avoids obvious halos and dark scenes retain detail before it can be called better than a flagship OLED.

Samsung claims full BT.2020 colour coverage from the Micro RGB backlight and gives the R95H its top processing and anti-reflection package. Those are meaningful ingredients, not a result. A strict review still needs measured colour accuracy, sustained brightness, zone transitions, shadow detail and off-axis performance.

Gaming and motion

Up to 165Hz VRR, FreeSync Premium Pro and four high-bandwidth HDMI inputs make the connection layout flagship-grade. The anti-reflection surface should also help daytime play. Current consoles top out below the panel's ceiling, so PC owners have the clearest reason to care about 165Hz.

Living with it

Glare Free is the everyday advantage over the R85H, while Object Tracking Sound+ offers a fuller starting point than basic TV speakers. Tizen is feature-rich but not quiet. At this price, buyers should compare a complete OLED-and-soundbar package rather than the television alone.
