Microsoft controls both the hardware and Windows, so the laptop feels unusually coherent for a PC. The keyboard is comfortable, wake-up is quick and video calls are handled cleanly. It is especially well suited to people who want Windows without a collection of duplicate manufacturer utilities.

The Snapdragon platform prioritises efficiency. Office work, browsing and streaming are smooth, and battery life is a genuine strength. Games, complex creative plug-ins and long rendering jobs are not the target; an Intel, AMD or dedicated-graphics laptop is safer for those.
Compatibility
Mainstream programs increasingly provide native Arm versions and Windows can translate many older applications. Translation is not perfect.
