This version has 16GB of memory (RAM), enough to keep many browser tabs and apps open without slowing down, and a 1TB drive, which leaves plenty of space for photos and files. PCWorld tested a 512GB version with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U chip; it found the 1920 x 1200 screen bright and colourful, measuring 374 nits, and saw over 12 hours of video playback from the 53Wh battery. It also found the laptop fell behind rivals during long, heavy tasks. Useful sockets include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports and HDMI 2.1. PCWorld's review unit used an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U, a chip designed for efficiency, with built-in Intel graphics. It found performance fine for everyday computing but behind competitors when a heavy task runs for a long time, partly because of how it handles heat. Screen
The 16-inch screen has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a little taller than a standard widescreen, which helps with documents and web pages. PCWorld measured 374 nits of brightness, enough for a bright room, and 86% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour range, so photos and video look rich. Check reflections in person if you often work near a window.
Battery and storage
The battery is 53Wh (watt-hours, a measure of how much energy it holds). PCWorld saw over 12 hours of video playback; heavier work will drain it faster. This version's 1TB SSD, fast solid-state storage, gives twice the space of PCWorld's 512GB unit, useful if you keep photo libraries or large files on the laptop.
Sockets, camera and build
There are two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that also charge the laptop and drive a monitor, two USB-A ports for older accessories, HDMI 2.1 for a TV or screen, and a headphone jack. It has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. PCWorld found the 1440p webcam and microphones good for calls, and noted visible recycled materials. It weighs about 4lb (1.8kg), so it is more for the desk than daily carrying.
