Our verdict
The Samsung HW-Q600F is a soundbar with a separate subwoofer, the box that handles low bass, so explosions and music have weight that TV speakers cannot manage. Tom's Guide lists it as 3.1.2 channel with Dolby Atmos, meaning speakers aimed upwards to add height to film soundtracks. It connects to your TV by HDMI eARC, the HDMI socket that carries full-quality sound back to the soundbar, or by optical cable, and it also has Bluetooth. Tom's Guide praised dialogue and bass, though one film had muffled speech. It has no rear speakers, so it will not surround you like a full kit. Samsung's UK price was £349 when we checked on 1 August 2026.

Film nights

Tom's Guide found dialogue crystal clear in general, though one scene in The Batman was muffled. Try a favourite drama before deciding.
Gaming and music
A game sound mode is included, and Bluetooth lets you play music from a phone. There is no Chromecast or AirPlay built in.

Sound and bass
The Q600F comes with a wireless subwoofer, a separate box for low frequencies. Tom's Guide described the bass as punchy and, in film scenes, floor-shaking. The soundbar itself is listed as 3.1.2 channel with Dolby Atmos: three front channels, one subwoofer and two upward-firing speakers for height. Tom's Guide praised dialogue but heard some speech muffled in The Batman. It used only subjective listening and provided no measurements.
Connections
HDMI eARC sends full-quality sound from your TV to the soundbar over one cable, and lets your TV remote control volume. An optical input is included for older TVs, and Bluetooth lets you play music from a phone. Tom's Guide found no Chromecast or AirPlay support, and it could not get SpaceFit Sound Pro, Samsung's room-tuning feature, working even with newer Samsung TVs.
Sound modes
Tom's Guide lists adaptive, game, surround and standard modes. Surround mode aims for a wider sound. With no rear speakers, the wider effect depends on room shape and where the TV sits. Try each mode with content you know well.
Space and setup
The soundbar and subwoofer are separate, so you need a power socket for each and floor space for the subwoofer. Tom's Guide lists it in black only. Measure your TV stand and floor space before buying.
