Our verdict
The OPPO Find X9 Pro is a large phone for people who use theirs heavily. OPPO's UK specification lists a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, so scrolling looks smooth, and a typical brightness of 800 nits rising to 1,800 nits in high brightness mode for sunny days. The rear cameras are a 50MP wide, a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP telephoto, the lens for distant subjects. The 7,500mAh battery is large, and OPPO lists 80W wired SUPERVOOC and 50W wireless AIRVOOC charging. It has 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage, and weighs about 224g. Storage and battery are generous; the weight is the price of them.

OPPO lists up to 80W SUPERVOOC wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. You need compatible equipment to reach those speeds, and an existing plug or pad may charge more slowly. Check the cost before comparing deals.
Judge the camera by your subjects
The telephoto has a 200MP sensor. Look for examples of what you photograph, such as faces, pets or distant buildings, rather than assuming the largest pixel count wins in every setting.

OPPO lists a 50MP wide camera (f/1.5), a 50MP ultrawide (f/2.0), a 200MP telephoto (f/2.1) and a 2MP monochrome sensor, with a 50MP front camera for selfies. The telephoto is the lens for distant subjects such as buildings, wildlife or a stage. A high pixel count captures detail, but it does not tell you how well moving subjects or dim scenes turn out. OPPO lists a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, meaning the image updates up to 120 times a second for smoother scrolling. Typical brightness is 800 nits, with a typical figure of 1,800 nits in high brightness mode (HBM), a setting for bright light. These are OPPO's figures, not ours.
Storage and performance
OPPO lists 16GB of LPDDR5X memory (RAM, which keeps apps running side by side) and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, a fast type of phone storage that helps apps open and large files copy quickly. The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. That combination should suit games, editing and heavy multitasking. The UK price we recorded, £899, is for this 512GB entry configuration.
Battery, charging and size
The battery is 7,500mAh (28.13Wh typical). OPPO lists charging up to 80W SUPERVOOC or 80W UFCS wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless, though you need matching chargers to get those speeds. A bigger battery does not tell you how long a day will last; navigation, weak signal and video recording all use more power. The phone is about 8.25mm thick and about 224g, so hold one before buying.
