Choose a microphone
Select and test the microphone used for calls or recordings.
Use the pictures where shown. Follow the short instructions between them.

Open the Apple menu
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of the screen.

Open the Apple menu
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of the screen.
STEP 2
Open System Settings
Click System Settings.
STEP 3
Open Sound
In the sidebar on the left, click Sound.
STEP 4
Open Input
Choose Input and select the microphone you want to use.
STEP 5
Test it
Speak normally and check the input-level bars move.
STEP 6
Check the app as well
In the app you are using, check its microphone selection and permission if it still cannot hear you.
Choosing a device in Sound does not grant an app permission to use your microphone.
