Connect a soundbar
Send the television's sound to a separate soundbar or home cinema system.
Use the pictures where shown. Follow the short instructions between them.
STEP 1 OF 8
Find the ARC or eARC socket
Look at the HDMI sockets on the back of the television and find the one marked ARC or eARC.

Find the ARC or eARC socket
Look at the HDMI sockets on the back of the television and find the one marked ARC or eARC.
STEP 2
Connect the cable
Connect an HDMI cable between that socket and the ARC or eARC socket on the soundbar.
STEP 3
Press Home
Press the Home button on your remote.
STEP 4
Open Settings
Scroll down the menu on the left and select Settings.
STEP 5
Open System
Select System.
STEP 6
Open Control other devices (CEC)
Select Control other devices (CEC).
STEP 7
Turn on ARC
Highlight ARC and press OK so it is ticked.
Tick System audio control too, so the Roku remote controls the soundbar volume.
STEP 8
Test it
Play something and turn the soundbar volume up. Many TV remotes will then control the soundbar's volume automatically.
If there is no sound, check the soundbar's input is set to the correct HDMI ARC source.
