SMALL STEPS. USEFUL SKILLS.
Make writing easier to read
Make writing larger in supported apps, then check that it is comfortable to read.
Use the pictures where shown. Follow the short instructions between them.
STEP 1 OF 4
Open Settings
Tap the grey Settings app on your Home Screen.

STEP 1
Open Settings
Tap the grey Settings app on your Home Screen.

STEP 2
Tap Display & Brightness
In the list on the left, tap Display & Brightness.
Open Settings first, then find Display & Brightness in the left sidebar. This reference shows the list after scrolling.

STEP 3
Open Text Size
Tap Text Size. Leave the brightness slider alone; it changes how bright the screen is, not the size of the writing.
Tap Text Size. The slider lower down on this picture changes brightness, not writing size. The separate text-size slider is not pictured.

STEP 4
Choose a comfortable size
On the Text Size page, drag its slider to the right to make writing larger, or left to make it smaller. Check a supported app such as Mail or Notes afterwards.
Need even larger writing? Go to Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. If buttons become hard to use, reduce the size again. Not every app supports this setting.

IF SOMETHING LOOKS DIFFERENT
A little help along the way.
Your menus may look different after an update. Look for the same control name and take your time.
I cannot find that option+
Check that this guide covers your device and software. If the names do not match, use the manufacturer’s instructions linked below for your model.
I need to go back a step+
Use Previous step or select a step number above. This changes the guide only; it does not undo anything on your device.
Are these pictures of my device?+
They are example screens showing exactly where to tap. Your names, apps, wallpaper and layout may look a little different, but the options you need are the same. Some pictures show what you should see after a step.
