Install a new app
Find an app in Google Play and check its cost before installing.
Use the pictures where shown. Follow the short instructions between them.

Open Play Store
Tap the multicoloured Play Store triangle.
Play Store is at the top right of this example app list. Your app order may differ.
STEP 3
Open Search
Tap Search in the bottom navigation.
Search is the magnifying glass near the bottom.
STEP 4
Enter the app name
Tap Search Apps & Games at the top and type the app name.
The search field is at the top of this page.
STEP 5
Run the search
Tap the magnifying-glass key at the bottom right of the keyboard.
The example search is Chess. Use the name of the app you want.
STEP 6
Check the result
Find the correct app and developer, then tap the app name.
The example is Chess by AI Factory Limited. The result at the top is marked Sponsored; check the name instead of choosing the first result automatically.
STEP 7
Check and install
Check the app name, developer and any cost, then tap Install. If a price is shown instead, only continue if you want to buy the app.
Install downloads this example to the phone. Optional purchases, adverts or subscriptions may still be included. Any purchase confirmation is not pictured.
STEP 8
Open your app
Wait for installation, then tap Play or Open.
This game now says Installed and has a Play button. Other apps may say Open.
IF SOMETHING LOOKS DIFFERENT
