Scan a document with Notes
Turn a letter, receipt or form into a clear PDF using the Notes app.
Use the pictures where shown. Follow the short instructions between them.

Open Notes
Tap the yellow and white Notes app.
Your wallpaper and app positions may differ. Match the highlighted app icon and name.

Open Notes
Tap the yellow and white Notes app.

STEP 2
Start a new note
Tap the new note button (a square with a pencil) in the bottom-right corner.
You can open an existing note instead.
STEP 3
Open the attachment menu
Tap the attachment button in the note.
STEP 4
Choose Scan Documents
Tap Scan Documents.
STEP 5
Put the whole page in view
Lay the paper on a plain surface and hold the iPhone so all four corners appear on screen. The phone may take the picture automatically.
This example shows a letter inside the camera frame. Place your own whole page in view. You can tap the white shutter if it does not capture automatically.
STEP 6
Check the edges
If you took the picture yourself, move the corner markers if needed, then tap Keep Scan.
STEP 7
Tap Done
When you have scanned every page, tap Done.
STEP 8
Check the scan
Open the scan in your note and make sure every word is readable.

Your menus may look different after an update. Look for the same control name and take your time.
